The Sisal fish
This board is nearly two years in the making, since we harvested the wood some time ago.
'Harvested' meaning standing on the pavement and fighting with spikey plants as people drive past. We were careful to take only the stems that had fallen over so we weren't killing any plants. Or scouring the klein karoo for suitable plants.
The foam strips are from an old longboard, so the entire blank is made from recycled materials. The fins are handmade and inspired from a template from a Bob Simmons board.
And although the board is a bit thin and small it goes surprisingly well. The wood (sisal) definitely feels different to regular boards, more alive.

Squidfish
The squidfish is based on the 1980's kneeboard in the pic. Modified to be slightly longer and with a fish tail instead of a batwing. Really fast, loose and fun to surf.
